Are you looking for help to calculate your validation results and the uncertainty associated with your testing method?
The verification and/or validation of testing methods is an essential part of a laboratory’s work in accordance with UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025.
To carry out validations, there are different techniques, and we highlight the 3 most important ones:
- Comparison against a stable and known value using a reference material that we have in sufficient quantity to be quantified.
- The laboratory’s preparation of the known reference value using standards and doping a matrix of its interest.
- “Validation by value pairs” is used when we cannot resort to the other two methods, either due to the impossibility of doping the samples or the lack of quantity to perform sufficient repetitions with reference materials.
Laboratories must conduct validations following a documented procedure and apply the methodologies mentioned as needed. To implement any of the techniques, calculations need to be performed to confirm that the required prerequisites are met, determining whether the validation is suitable for its intended purpose or not. Validation checks typically focus on parameters such as precision (in repeatability and/or reproducibility) and accuracy.
Moreover, another important requirement when performing calculations for the validation of a testing method when working in accordance with UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 is the determination of testing uncertainty. There are different methodologies for its calculation, some of which can be complex. For this reason, it is recommended that laboratories have a procedure and tools to perform this evaluation more easily and minimize the possibility of calculation errors.
The results from experiments performed during the validation allow, through comparison with the prerequisites, the declaration of the method’s validation and the establishment of acceptable values for quality control.
At GSC, we create versatile validation procedures and uncertainty estimation spreadsheets
At GSC, we want to make your daily tasks easier by providing you with tools that improve your organization.
These tools allow you to perform validation calculations for your quantitative tests, following any of the techniques mentioned earlier, in a simpler way.
They include an extract of the procedure that describes each procedure in detail so you can implement the one that best suits your needs.
They allow you to perform the calculation of uncertainty based on the validation results of the method.
They reduce the time dedicated to the task and the possibility of errors, as they are validated and protected for use.
Once the validation process is complete, GSC continues to help you. We also provide spreadsheets that simplify the assurance of the quality of your routine results, whether for physico-chemical or microbiological methods. This way, you can ensure that your tests are continuously controlled, verifying compliance with the quality control criteria established during the validation.
At GSC, we offer a package of tools along with various documents that guide you through the necessary steps to help you validate the chemical methods used in your laboratory. Because with our procedures, the reliability of your analysis results is guaranteed.
Validate your laboratory’s chemical testing methods with the offer we provide, which includes:
- Validated spreadsheet
- Certificate of validation for the spreadsheet
- Explanatory document on how to use the spreadsheet
